
Peyton Phaller / Trumpet
Peyton Phaller is an accomplished musician, freelance trumpet player and passionate educator. He is currently finishing his masters degree in trumpet performance at James Madison University under Dr. Chris Carrillo. Peyton is involved with a variety of ensembles and plays an expansive range of musical styles. Currently he plays cornet with the JMU Brass Band, which won 1st place in the North American Brass Band Associations Championship Section in 2024. Played in the 2024 JMU Trumpet ensemble which competed at the National Trumpet Competition and the North American Brass Band Associations small ensemble division where they won 2nd place. He also performs with the Wind Symphony and Jazz band at JMU as well as with local ensembles such as the Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra.

Peyton also has a bachelors degree in music education from the University of Florida. There he found a love for education and music. He was involved in many ensembles such as the Wind Symphony, Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble. Peyton was also involved in the inaugural performances of the UF Brass Band and Afro-pop ensemble, where he was often featured as a soloist during his time with these ensembles. In addition to these ensembles he would gig in the greater Gainesville area with local bands, churches, and community ensembles. In addition to his dedication to trumpet playing, Peyton was also very active in the world of music education. When he wasn't practicing or playing gigs, he was teaching private lessons to students of all ages as well as teaching in local schools.
